Introducing the Yuneec Typhoon H Hexacopter
This year at CES Yuneec Electric Aviation has announced the all new Yuneec Typhoon H Hexacopter. The Yuneec Typhoon H is slated to have professional level features at a prosumer price point. The Typhoon H will have a starting price of $1799 for the RTF unit, this will include everything you need to get started. The Typhoon H features six rotors, a 360-degree gimbal camera and retractable landing gear. The 360-degree gimbal features the CGO3+ camera allows for awesome aerial 4K videos and 12MP stills. The Typhoon H also features a custom designed hard case/backpack that allows for ultimate portability.
Compact Platform
The Typhoon H’s compact size allows for the copter to fit in a custom designed backpack. This backpack allows users to transport the copter to more places than ever. Quick disconnect propellers and folding rotor arms are what allow the Typhoon H to fold down for storage in the backpack case.
Controller
The Yuneec Typhoon H includes the Android based ST16 personal ground station. The ST16 uses an all new HD video downlink that provides the pilot with 720P video feedback to an integrated 7-inch screen. The ST16 also gives the operator the ability to control the new 360 degree gimbal with just one operator.
CGO3+ Camera/Gimbal
The Yuneec Typhoon H uses the CGO3+ 4K capable camera and features an all new 360-degree gimbal. This gimbal, combined with the retractable landing gear, allow the operator an unobstructed 360-degree view of their surroundings. This camera also shoots 12MP stills that allow crystal clear shots from any angle.
Imaging and Flight Modes
The Yuneec Typhoon H includes a new set of imaging modes that include Waypoints, Orbit Point of Interest, Orbit Pilot and Open/Close Scene. The Typhoon H also features Smart Mode, Angle Mode, Return to Home and Auto Landing, just as other copters in Yuneec’s lineup.
Revolutionary Safety Features
Yuneec recently formed a partnership with computer chip powerhouse Intel, the Typhoon H is the first copter to integrate new technologies formed through their partnership. The Yuneec Typhoon H uses and all new ultrasonic proximity sensor that assists the pilot in avoiding large obstacles. The new hexacopter design of the Typhoon H allows for a 1 motor redundancy. The Typhoon H is able to lose 1 motor in the air and still be able to fly home safely and land without the risk of the copter crashing to the ground. Additional safety features include Geo-fencing, Variable Speed Control, Dynamic Return Home and Low-Battery Return Home.
